![]() The Advanced Medical and Dental Institute (AMDI) Translational Knowledge and Information Centre was formed in September 2003. The mission of AMDI Translational Knowledge and Information Centre is in line with AMDI mission and vision which is to support the training and production of specialist and medical scientists who are competent, holistic in approach and contemporary in their practice and profession and who are capable of generating novel discoveries in medicine and dentistry through advanced research established on the spiritual for the universal good. The Translational Knowledge and Information Centre supports teaching, learning and research in the University through its ever expanding collections, services and facilities. It provides access to a wide range of quality resources regardless of format, language and location. New services and facilities are being continuously developed and introduced to fulfill the information needs of its patrons in line with the Translational Knowledge and Information Centre’s aim to be one of the most advanced research libraries in the region. With continuous and rapid advancements being made in technology, the Translational Knowledge and Information Centre endeavours to evolve with these changes in order to provide the best resources and services to its patrons and to remain as the hub of information sources and services. Until December 2009, about 12,067 copies of printed books, 145 titles of electronic books, 10 databases and 134 journals (94 printed and 40 online) are available as the collection. Services offered are loans, literature search, interlibrary-loan, references and information literature programs. Meanwhile, books and journals are also available at the Hospital Kepala Batas Knowledge and Information Centre with a collection of 153 copies, supervised by a clerk. The Translational Knowledge and Information Centre was involved in continuous training for the new library integration system, KOHA, starting October 2009. Staff was also involved in the preparation and organizing many program organized by AMDI Library. |
